Sacramento’s Kitchen Safety Crew — Not a Call Center. Not a Franchise Mill.

The People Behind
Kitchen Guard of Sacramento

Built Here. Invested Here.

Kitchen Guard’s Mission,
Vision & Values

Ilyas Ahmed didn’t open Kitchen Guard of Sacramento to run a side hustle. He came from 30 years in semiconductor manufacturing — an industry where close enough means product failures and shutdowns. He brought that same zero-tolerance mindset to kitchen exhaust cleaning in the Capital Region. Every job gets done right. Every kitchen gets the NFPA 96-compliant documentation it needs. Every client gets treated like the business owner we know they are.

Devotion Icon

Devotion

Whether it’s a family-owned pho spot on Freeport Blvd or a hotel kitchen near the Convention Center, we treat every account like our most important one. In Sacramento, word travels fast — and we’d rather earn a referral than chase a five-star review.

Resourcefulness Icon

Resourcefulness

Tight equipment rooms off Del Paso Blvd. Rooftop fans above a Roseville strip mall. A kitchen built in 1972 that nobody has ever touched the ductwork on. We don’t flinch — we figure it out, and we show you proof when we’re done.

Resilience Icon

Resilience

We’ve never handed over a Certificate of Completion for work we didn’t finish. We’ve never skipped a duct run because access was hard. In an industry full of shortcuts, we don’t take them — because we live in Sacramento too, and the people eating in those restaurants are our neighbors.

Accountability Icon

Accountability

Every job is photographed before and after. You get a signed Certificate of Completion at the end of every visit. If something isn’t right, we come back and fix it. We’re not chasing one-time clients — we want to be the company you call without thinking about it.

The Kitchen Guard Story

Nathan Leathers built Kitchen Guard because he was tired of watching the hood cleaning industry hand out certificates for work that wasn’t done. He designed a system that couldn’t be faked — before-and-after photos, certified technicians, and commercial-grade equipment that actually reaches the dangerous parts of a duct system. When Ilyas Ahmed chose to bring that system to Sacramento, he was making a clear statement: this city deserves a kitchen safety company that takes the job seriously.

Meet the Kitchen Guard of Sacramento Team

You won’t meet a subcontractor when we show up. Every person who walks into your kitchen is a Kitchen Guard of Sacramento W-2 employee — hired carefully, trained to our process, and accountable to us and to you. Cinthia Arias, our Fire and Life Safety Consultant, was born and raised in Sacramento. When she sits down to talk with you about your kitchen, she’s not pitching — she’s helping protect a community she’s part of.

Don’t Just Take Our Word for It

Certified, Insured & Compliant —
Every Job, Every Time

Kitchen Guard of Sacramento operates under the standards set by the International Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning Association (IKECA) and NFPA 96 — the national fire protection code governing commercial kitchen exhaust systems. Every job we complete is photographed before and after, and every client receives a signed Certificate of Completion documenting the work performed and the date of service.

We carry full general liability insurance and workers’ compensation coverage on every W-2 technician on our crew — meaning if anything goes wrong on your property, you’re covered. We don’t send subcontractors. We don’t use day labor. Our technicians are trained to our process, background-checked, and wear Kitchen Guard uniforms on every job.

Sacramento Fire Marshal inspections, health department walk-throughs, and insurance audits all require documentation of regular exhaust cleaning. We know what those inspectors look for — because we’ve been through hundreds of them across the Capital Region. Our certificates hold up.

The Tools That Set Us Apart

Equipment That Actually Gets It Clean

  • Surface Cleaner
Most hood cleaners use cold water and call it done. Ours runs at up to 275°F at 4,000 PSI — hot enough to actually break down grease instead of just moving it around. The enclosed design means less mess in your kitchen and more grease removed from the system.

  • Magnetic Duct Scraper
Ductwork longer than five feet can’t be properly cleaned with a wand — the physics don’t work. Our magnetic duct scraper reaches where nothing else can and removes the caked grease that creates fire risk in the sections of your system you never see.

  • Duct Spinner
Horizontal and vertical duct runs require a spinning head to reach every surface. Without it, you get a clean hood and a dangerously dirty duct. Our duct spinner is what lets us hand over a certificate that’s actually worth the paper it’s printed on — meeting Sacramento Fire Department inspection standards.

  • Duct Spinner Cart
Horizontal runs are where grease accumulates most and where most companies cut corners. Our cart-mounted spinner gets full coverage across every horizontal section — the part of your exhaust system most likely to fail an inspection if it’s not properly cleaned.
